During the holy month of Ramadan, one of the greatest challenges (aside from abstaining from consuming food and drink) is maintaining a study/work life balance. Many of us still have to attend work, study for crucial exams and look after our families. Life doesn't stop and so, it shouldn't.

I have designed this Ramadan Study Timetable template which takes into account the available hours of the day and night to schedule in sleep, worship and study. Some of us are night owls and so, for you, use the night study version. For others, including myself, morning study works best, for which the day study version is applicable. Sleep is an underrated necessity that fuels our body and mind, allowing us to function normally and to our full capacity.

Due to the nature of suhoor timings, I find that Ramadan is most challenging as it requires waking up to eat in the middle of the night. In this timetable, I have scheduled in at least 6-8 hours of sleep for the day study group and a short 30-minute nap after Asr, for the night study version. It is vital that you maintain a healthy sleep routine during Ramadan. Without healthy sleep, your study efforts are futile and you'll find yourself tired, worn out and frustrated at your lack of ability to focus during the day.

My biggest tip and word of advice would be to step away from your phone when it's bed time. This is important during any time of the year, but even more so during Ramadan when your sleep routine is so precious. Pick up a book instead. Change your habits. Change your routine.

This timetable is based off a decade of trialing both methods and observing the productivity and behaviour of others that followed opposite study patterns to me. There is not one shoe that fits all. Rather, the key is to find the time and schedule that works for YOU, and capitalising on that. The timetable is completely modifiable, so you can change the prayer timings as the weeks go on, colour, font or any other feature that suits you.

I have provided this timetable for free as I want this to reach as many students as possible. I would really appreciate this being shared across your networks. If you would like to support me directly, I'd love for you to share or use a service from my business, The Page Doctor, whereby my team of PhD researchers can help you with any academic needs you may have.
